Things I’ve gotta do today:
Get up at 5:22 a.m. and go for my morning walk 2.34 miles around the neighborhood at 6:17 a.m.
Kiss the wife.
Coffee.
Step over the dogs in the kitchen while cooking breakfast.
Put my writing shoes on.
Be a friend to my fellow man.
Learn how to hit a curve ball.
Practice my doubletalk.
Fall into a book.

On most mornings, I get to the office early. I get a good parking spot. I usually am the first to arrive in the newsroom, so I turn on the lights. (I refuse to make the coffee, though.)
